CARLA’S ALMOND RICE

1 cup uncooked, long cooking rice
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup thinly sliced onions
1/4 cup slivered almonds
3 tbsp. Butter or margarine

Cook rice in salt water according to package directions. While rice cooks, sauté the almonds and onions in the butter until almonds and onions have turned lightly brown.
When rice has finished cooking, stir sautéed mixture into rice.
