CARLA'S CROCK POT DRESSING
1 cup celery, chopped
½ cup onion, chopped
1 stick (8 oz) margarine
1 to 2 loaves of bread, dried
3 tsp sage
2 eggs, beaten
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 to 2 cans of turkey or chicken broth & milk (opt.) to moisten
bread
Sauté celery and onion in margarine.
Break up bread into small pieces and dry overnight or in the oven.
Combine sautéed celery and onion with bread and seasonings.
Stir in eggs.
Put into crock pot until about 2/3 of the way full. Bread will swell
during cooking.
Pour broth and milk (opt.) over bread until very soggy.
Cook on high setting for at least 2 hours to cook eggs.
Turn heat to low setting for several hours until it becomes as dry as
you like it to be.
