Grilled Italian Sausage Kabobs

 

3/4 c pizza sauce
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 tablespoon oil
1 1/2 lb italian style sausage links
2 medium zucchini, cut into 1" chunks
1 medium red pepper, cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1 medium green pepper, cut into 1 1/2" pieces
6 large pimiento stuffed olives

 

Mix pizza sauce, basil, and oil.

Cook sausage over medium heat till partially done, about 10 minutes and drain.
Skin and cut into 1 1/2" chunks.

Alternate sausage, zucchini, and peppers on 6 metal skewers.
Place an olive on the tip of each skewer.

 

Grill kabobs 5" to 6" from medium coals 20 to 30 minutes.
Turning and brushing 2 to 3 times with pizza sauce.

or

Bake at 425 15 to 20 minutes.
Turn and brush with sauce 2 to 3 times during cooking.

 

Serve with extra sauce drizzled over kabobs.
